UKStarcom VOIP Wi-fi Phone - Dial Worldwide for free from any wireless LAN
I like wireless LANs and ever since they came out Ive been looking for different gadgets to connect to my wire free LAN.
One of my favourite gadgets is my UTStarcom Wireless VOIP phone.
To set it up all you need to do is
* Find a VOIP provider online. They normally only ask that you top up with around £7 a month (10 Euros, 14$). Most providers however provide free credits that enable you to call a huge number of countries for free. This is a great way to call Uncle fred in Australia from your local Internet Cafe for free using your handsfree wi-fi phone 
I currently use http://www.internetcalls.com as my provider. Only 10 euros a month if you need to top up. You can pay using paypal, credit card etc.
This is useful if your local internet cafe or coffee shop happens to allow anyone to connect to their wireless LAN for free. The phone automatically latches on to any OPEN wireless LANs when you switch it on. Call quality is good. The only thing the phone lacks is a speaker phone option but I can put up with that.
